Can I use different themes for different ads and posters and fliers?
It is not recommended. It would be confusing to folks if they see several different orchid photos talking about orchid shows. They might not realize that they are all for the same show. It is best to use the same look or theme across all elements to reinforce and remind people of your orchid show.
Can we use our own photo for our own unique theme?
Yes. We can use your photo to create your show materials. It is only a small additional cost instead of using one of our stock themes. Just remember, we can’t make great looking materials with poor quality photos.
Suggestion: Have you or anyone in your society had an orchid earn an AOS award? If so contact the photographer at the judging center to see if they will provide the high resolution, digital file for you to use for your materials. Sometimes the photographer will just give you the file in exchange for a photo credit. Or they might want a small usage fee. Sometimes the answer is no. It never hurts to ask.
Remember, we won’t use any photo without the express written permission of the photographer.
I don’t want to order a theme and then discover that our neighboring society is using the same one. Can you stop that from happening?
Yes. When you place your order and choose a theme we will see if anyone else in your area is also using that theme. We will insure at least a 50 mile radius for one year of your show date.
The theme of our show is “An Explosion of Orchids” can you make that the headline?
The public usually doesn’t care if it is an “Explosion ...” or a “Holiday ...” or a “Carnival of Orchids”. They just want to see and buy orchids regardless of the theme. The main purpose of all of our materials is to drive up attendance and bring more people to your show.
With that in mind, all of our themes just keep the message simple so that “Orchid Show” is the headline and it’s large and attention grabbing. There is room to include your theme on all materials if you like.
Can I add some more text than what you are showing?
Of course. I can put as much text in as you want. However it is best to follow the motto: “Less is More”. Having fewer words makes it easier to remember and thus communicate better. All of these pieces were designed to include only information that pertains to the public that you are inviting. Who. What. When. Where. It is best to keep it short.
ADS
I need a different size ad that the ones you offer. Can you do a different size?
Of course. While using one of our stock sizes is the most economical we can do any size you need. We will provide an estimate although it is usually only slightly more.
Please note that as the ad gets smaller the text should get shorter.
What resolution will the ad be?
We will give you any resolution you request. Most newsletters want 72dpi so the ads look great and download quickly without making the overall file size too large.
Most magazines want 300dpi because they will be printed on gloss stock and file size is not an issue.
FLIERS
I ordered some fliers but now we need more, can I just pay the difference for the printing?
No. If you need more fliers it is considered a new printing order even if you reorder the exact same flier. No additional design fees will be charged if no changes are made. It is always best and a lot cheaper to order extra the first time if you aren’t sure exactly how many you will use.
